Taking place on 12 August 2026, as the Algarve prepares to witness a rare solar eclipse Viceroy at Ombria Algarve will host the Solar Eclipse Chefs’ Food Market – an exclusive open-air culinary celebration combining Michelin-starred gastronomy, local flavours and celestial discovery in the heart of the resort.
Taking place in the Main Plaza, the event will transform the space into a vibrant summer food market, bringing guests together in a relaxed and social atmosphere while showcasing the creativity of some of Portugal’s leading chefs.
The exceptional line-up of culinary talent includes the likes of Rui Paula, of Casa de Chá da Boa Nova (two Michelin stars); Rui Sequeira, of Alameda (one Michelin star); and André Cruz, of Feitoria (one Michelin star), alongside Ombria Algarve’s inimitable in-house chefs.
Rather than a formal dining experience, the Solar Eclipse Chefs’ Food Market will celebrate the spirit of a Mediterranean summer evening, allowing guests to move freely between stations, discover different dishes, enjoy drinks, and connect with the chefs in a more informal and engaging way.
