The Royal Ballet and Opera and NoMad London have announced an exciting new partnership, naming the hotel as the organisation’s first-ever Hotel Partner
Situated on opposite sides of Covent Garden’s Bow Street, this partnership formalises a longstanding relationship and reflects a shared position within the neighbourhood’s artistic and cultural life.
In this new partnership NoMad London expands on the brand’s foundational commitment to the arts as it fosters local relationships to enrich visitor experience and cultivate a culturally minded community.
The hotel’s in-house art collection includes several of Clive Boursnell’s 1970s photographs of the Royal Opera House and the hotel’s Common Decency bar also features murals inspired by Oscar Wilde’s play, Salome painted by scenic painters from the Royal Ballet and Opera.
This creative connection now extends across Bow Street to the Royal Opera House, home to the Royal Ballet and Opera. The partnership will offer guests of NoMad London a closer insight into the artistry and craftsmanship behind the world-class productions, bringing elements of the institution into the hotel.
A rare costume display

To celebrate this special partnership, The Royal Ballet will loan a costume from Frederick Ashton’s beloved ballet Marguerite and Armand to be displayed in NoMad London’s lobby. The costume was designed by Cecil Beaton for Margot Fonteyn in 1963 who famously performed the role of Marguerite alongside Rudolf Nureyev as Armand. This striking costume will be exhibited for two weeks from 14th September, offering guests a rare opportunity to see the craftsmanship and artistry of this beautiful costume up close.
To further celebrate the partnership, a social media campaign has been launched, featuring Royal Ballet Principal dancer Yasmine Naghdi. It offers an intimate glimpse into her post-performance rituals, from Yasmine’s dressing room at the Royal Opera House to the exquisite Royal Opera House Suite at the neighbouring NoMad London showcasing the venues’ proximity and the delight in relaxation and restoration.
“Our long-standing relationship with the Royal Opera House is rooted not only in our shared commitment to the arts, but also in our connection to the Covent Garden neighbourhood. We’re delighted to build on this relationship through our new partnership and look forward to finding new ways to collaborate and bring our communities together.” commented John Sutherland, General Manager at NoMad London.
“We’re pleased to welcome NoMad London as our first-ever hotel partner, building on the longstanding relationship we have developed as close neighbours in Covent Garden. This partnership gives us an exciting opportunity to take the Royal Ballet and Opera experience beyond the walls of the Royal Opera House, introducing our creativity and artistry to new audiences in new ways. We look forward to working closely with NoMad London to bring this partnership to life.” added Sophie Wybrew-Bond, Chief Commercial Officer at the Royal Ballet and Opera.
