It’s no secret that I have a sweet tooth. Here’s one of my guilt-free ways to indulge – for under 350 calories and less than 3g sugar
Like many people, I love sugar but sugar doesn’t love me. It gives me headaches, affects my concentration and always, without fail, makes me bloat. This simple protein berry bowl is one of my favourite ways to start the day – it’s super simple and feels naughty even though it’s low carb, high protein and contains far less sugar than a bowl of granola or cereal.
What you’ll need
• 1 x PhD Nutrition‘s DietWhey Protein Bar, any flavour
• 250g strawberries
• 300g blueberries
And that’s it. To make it, all you’ll need to do is slice the strawberries, sprinkle the blueberries and chop up the bar into tiny pieces.
It tastes just like chocolate fudge and berries – so it’s great for breakfast, a snack or even dessert. The bar is pretty thick, so use a strong knife.
Add the trio into a bowl, grab a fork and dig in. Chopping the bar up is great for portion control – you’ll take longer to chew, so it helps to fight the temptation to eat another bar. I can’t praise DietWhey bars enough – they’re under 200 calories each and really capture the decadent taste of a brownie. Without the sugar rush. The berries meanwhile, are a great source of antioxidants and help to fight inflammation.
