Gourmands, it’s time to pack your suitcases. Sheraton Maldives Full Moon Resort & Spa has announced that Michelin starred chef Andrei Shmakov will be joining the hotel for a special seven-day residency this March, offering guests the chance to try out a few of Andrei’s most popular dishes as well as new innovative creations.
Located on the breathtaking private island of Furanafushi, this breathtaking five-star hotel is home to 176 recently renovated rooms and suites, enveloped by glistening turquoise waters, pristine white sandy beaches, and swaying palms – the ideal location for a spot of Michelin feasting.
From the 20th – 27th of the month, Shmakov will be taking over the hotel’s signature restaurant, Sea Salt, bringing his world-renowned cooking skills and a taste of Russia to the Maldives.
Originally from Tallinn, Estonia, Shmakov is Head Chef at acclaimed Moscow restaurant SAVVA. The lauded chef is known for his take on ‘new Russian cuisine’ adding his unique twist to traditional Russian dishes to suit a more contemporary palate with multiple impressive awards under his belt (or chef apron).
Shmakov also led his restaurant to be named among the World’s Best Restaurants by France’s La Liste, whilst winning a prestigious Gault & Millau award for himself. Alongside his career at SAVVA, Shmakov is the host of Masterchef Junior and runs two restaurants in his hometown of Tallinn.
Throughout Shmakov’s highly anticipated residency, guests at Sheraton Maldives will be able to unique enjoy highlights such as burned salmon with seaweed, pickled cucumber and sour cream with horseradish; zucchini roll with lobster bisque; Szechuan duck with sweet beetroot, currant, parmesan and truffle jus; and fish coulibyak with champagne sauce and caviar.
