Join five-star University Arms in Cambridge for a transformative weekend filled with movement, mindfulness and wholesome menus this January
Ideal for both a mind and body boost during the most depressing month of the year, this January, University Arms in Cambridge is launching an all-new series of health and wellness retreats at the hotel. Welcoming experts from the worlds of fitness, nutrition and mental conditioning, the inaugural three-day Holistic Health experience is ideal for starting 2022 in wellness-enriched style.
Drawing upon the motto ‘knowledge is power’, the transformative programme taking place from Friday 21st – Sunday 23rd January aims to educate participants for long term and maintainable health goals, all within the surroundings of Cambridge’s most historic luxury hotel.

The specially-curated Holistic Health programme will guide guests through a weekend of movement, mindfulness and wholesome menus. Led by industry experts, the itinerary includes instructed sessions dedicated to body conditioning, nutrition for brain function, breathwork, sound therapy meditation and yoga, providing a 360 degree approach to wellness.
Guests will be welcomed on Friday evening by Holistic Coach, Lizzy Chong with a gentle meditation session, inaugurating the programme and mentally preparing them for the weekend ahead.
Following a wholesome breakfast at Parker’s Tavern, the Saturday programme will kick off with an educational session with nutritionist Eva Humphries who will enlighten guests on the relationship between diet and brain function whilst breaking down buzzwords and unravelling popular diet myths. Eva will be joined by TV personality and Chef Patron of Parker’s Tavern Tristan Welch, who will demonstrate how to maximise the nutritional value of seasonal produce before serving up a revitalising lunch meal.

The afternoon continues with an active session with Performance Coach and wellbeing expert Dalton Wong. The session will draw upon experience gleaned from over 25 years of training celebrities such as Jennifer Lawrence. This medium intensity session will show attendees the secrets of bodyweight conditioning, with a dedicated focus on core stability and leg strength routines.

The programme continues Sunday with a full schedule of nutrition, training and mindfulness sessions. Movement sessions will be adapted to suit the interests of each attendee with opportunities for feedback following each session. The programme will wrap up on Sunday afternoon with a ‘Gong-pranayama’ sound bath.
This unique ritual uses vocal toning and sound vibrations to realign brainwaves, facilitating healing on a cellular level – a deeply relaxing and mindful experience to conclude the experience. Those looking to make a long weekend of this can opt to stay an extra night at a special rate.
The Holistic Health programme will include:
- Nutritional workshops from nutritionist Eva Humphries
- Mindfulness sessions from holistic trainer Lizzy Chong of Twenty Two Training
- A full three-day Holistic Health menu created by chef Tristan Welch
- Physical conditioning sessions from celebrity trainer Dalton Wong, founder Twenty Two Training
- Two nights’ accommodation at University Arms hotel
“I’m delighted to be able to bring my signature training programme to the University Arms this January. One resolution I have for 2022 is to prove just how much you can achieve with a short 30-minute workout and with minimal equipment – mindset plays a huge part in this and I’m looking forward to joining the team of experts for what promises to be a very special weekend”, commented Dalton Wong.

“Having developed this programme for many months, I’m excited to share a small slice of the knowledge I’ve gained through my extensive studies into diet and wellness. I’ve had such fun developing the programme with chef Tristan and absolutely cannot wait to show our guests our collaborative menu”, adds Eva Humphries.
