Hotel Review: Ibiza Gran Hotel

After glitz, glamour and a glorious location? It’s time to book a stay at Ibiza Gran Hotel

Ibiza has something for every pleasure seeker. Beautiful views, stunning weather, incredible nightlife and even more impress culinary hotspots. When paired with a stay at Ibiza Gran Hotel, it’s the must-visit summer destination. A hotel that could impress Gatsby himself, Ibiza Gran Hotel, the only five-star hotel on the island, has it covered when it comes to luxury lifestyle.

Nestled on the Paseo Marítimo, the hotel faces two stunning marinas which brim with yachts and gigantic cruise liners. Across the water, the postcard-perfect buildings of Ibiza Old Town await exploration — whilst the scenic Talamanca beach is a short ten minute stroll away.

This coveted location means everything is accessible by foot or short taxi – ideal for those looking to venture and explore during their stay.

Not only does it possess an enviable postcode, the hotel also offers an oasis of calm in the midst of Ibiza’s hottest nightlife spots. The iconic Pacha is a mere stone’s throw away, but you’d never know it. Once inside, the modern art clad walls offer endless calm and quiet – ideal for retreating from the outside chaos.

Whilst laid-back, it’s still very chic indeed – the owners, a Majorcan hotelier family, call it an ‘Art Hotel’ – which is clear from the many impressive pieces that await within. Giant installations, enormous eggs and pieces to ponder over – each floor represents a different element (fire, water, earth, wind and sky) with work from 28 contemporary artists. Attention to detail is everywhere – from the artwork to staff attentiveness.

It’s the views however, that are really worth staring at – guests can gaze across the marina with a beautifully romantic view of the nearby Dalt Vila, Old Town. Just add a glass of bubbly for the perfect holiday backdrop.

The rooms

If the entrance and artwork don’t capture your attention, the rooms here are bound to leave a lasting impression. Hugely spacious, retreat to one of the hotel’s suites for serious relaxation.

Rooms are decked out in sophisticated style with bamboo walls, kingsize beds, sleek floors and fabulous whirlpool baths – plus plenty of extras in the form of nibbles, speakers and toiletries.

From vast closet space and soundproofed walls to terraces offering panoramic views and handy Nespresso machines (great after a night of Ibizan indulgence) each suite offers a haven of luxurious serenity. David Guetta himself is a fan – and it’s not hard to see why after a few nights of blissfully uninterrupted snoozing.

Where to eat

Fill your boots (and stomach) with Ibiza’s array of delicious eateries. Dine in and opt for a meal at the hotel’s La Gaia restaurant (which is surely headed for a Michelin star) for a Japeruvian experience or head out to the nearby marina for a stylish feast at the decadent IT-Ibiza.

Don’t miss out on the hotel’s famously vast breakfast spread – which offers almost every food imaginable, with laden table after table of different dishes and treats. If feeling naughty, the daily chocolate fondue fountain is a must.

What to do

For the keen partier, a visit to next-door neighbour haunt Pacha is essential. Dance the night away with some of the best DJs in the world – if you can remember it the next morning, that is. For those with something a tad more relaxing in mind, head to the hotel’s in-house spa for a day of relaxing and reclining in one of the spa’s multiple saunas or steam rooms.

Stick with something traditional and park up by the pools or if feeling adventurous, stick on your sandals and peruse the local markets in Ibiza’s Old Town
