Hot new hotel alert – opening its doors in winter 2020, here’s everything a luxe explorer needs to know about The Hari Hong Kong
Poised to be the newest addition to Hong Kong’s legacy of great heritage hotel brands, The Hari Hong Kong seeks to inject modern luxury and social dynamism into the district, bridging the commercial pulse of Causeway Bay and the creative design scene of Wan Chai.
An independent hospitality brand, The Hari is the inspiration of Dr. Aron Harilela, Chairman and CEO of Harilela Hotels.
After over four decades of owning and managing hotel properties, he has distilled the Group’s collective experience into an individual brand – the inaugural property being The Hari London opened in 2016.
“We are excited to bring The Hari to Hong Kong. Our second property, the hotel represents a homecoming to the place I’ve always called home.
Beyond a perfect night’s stay, The Hari Hong Kong aims to foster a deeper appreciation for the neighbourhood and city – it will be the best way for locals to get reacquainted with Hong Kong and for discerning travellers who want to do more than scratch the surface of the city,” commented Dr. Harilela.
The brand-new hotel comprises 210 guest rooms including three signature rooftop suites showcasing a layered approach to the design created by Tara Bernerd.
Having worked with Dr. Harilela for many years starting with The Hari London in 2009, Bernerd created a design narrative where Harilela’s layered tailoring inspired Bernerd’s material palettes.
More than just a place to stay, The Hari Hong Kong will serve as the community’s living room. Guests can enjoy a variety of social spaces including a lobby lounge, Zoku, a Japanese restaurant and terrace bar, and Lucciola, an Italian restaurant.
“The decision to open The Hari Hong Kong after a year of protests and the pandemic represents a vote of confidence in Hong Kong’s future as a city,” comments Dr. Harilela.
“I believe that Hong Kong will bounce back, we have foundations that you just can’t take away.” The Hari Hong Kong is slated to open in winter 2020.
