Gilpin Hotel & Lake House Reopens With New Spa Lodge

Gilpin Hotel and Lake House has reopened in the Lake District, with a brand new spa lodge and carefully enhanced restaurant facilities

As if there was any more reason to head to the picturesque Lake District this summer, the luxurious Gilpin Hotel has announced the perfect new weekend spa escape.

The 19-bedroom hotel and Lake House, which can sleep 12, has launched the new Spa Lodge 100 (the first of five planned for this year). The new addition is 25% larger than the property’s original spa lodges built in 2016, and features a range of relaxing amenities.

Inside awaits an open plan lounge, circular bath, a walled garden with private hot tub, steam room, sauna and treatment room equipped with infrared lounge beds. The robes are calling.

Additionally, Gilpin’s Spa Trail has also been adapted to use automated massage chairs with Japanese technology, both at the Lake House Spa and in the new treatment room at Gilpin.

Adding to its COVID policies, the numbers in the hotel’s two restaurants – Michelin-starred HRiSHi and casual dining space, Gilpin spice – have been capped to a mere 24 diners, with four tables per room. Diners will also be asked to pre-order their menu ahead of time.

A new kitchen that was under construction prior to lock down for HRiSHi is now complete – designed for three times the number of chefs – meaning that the kitchen brigade will also be able to practice safe distancing, each with their own fridge, oven space and induction hobs.
