Opening its doors on April 1st (no, that’s not a joke) bookings are now open for Story Cellar in Neal’s Yard, which will offer a menu based around rotisserie chicken
Calling all gourmands! On April 1st two Michelin Star Chef Tom Sellers will open Story Cellar at 17 Neal’s Yard, Seven Dials. Reservations for this highly anticipated restaurant are now open, with guests able to book via the Story Cellar website for tables from April 1st onwards.
Story Cellar is a Parisian-inspired rotisserie style restaurant with counter dining, where rotisserie chicken is the star of the show – served alongside a host of classic dishes, interpreted by Tom. Stephen Naylor joins Tom in the kitchen as Head Chef of Story Cellar, having worked as Sous Chef at Restaurant Story for the past four years.

At Story Cellar a sophisticated wine programme is supported by a Coravin system, offering guests the opportunity to try rare and exceptional wines by the glass, which would usually only be available in full bottle format. An expansive walk-in cellar allows guests to store their own personal collections at the restaurant, cared for by a world-class sommelier team, meaning patrons will be offered a bespoke monogrammed wine list when dining at Story Cellar.
Alongside rotisserie chicken, served with house salad and French fries, ½ or whole, Tom’s menu will feature a classic Terrine of the season, which at launch will be rabbit, carrot, prune & foie gras, House bread & cultured butter, House cured meats and Carlingford oysters.
A signature dish from Restaurant Story will be re-interpreted at Story Cellar in the format of Snail bolognese on toast with parsley butter. Shellfish dishes will include Hand dived scallop, served hot with XO sauce or cold with green strawberry, and Mussels in ‘Story’ cider. Pasta dishes of Crab linguine or Preserved Meyer lemon & green olive pappardelle will also be available.

From the grill, guests can expect daily changing fish of the day and Grass fed ‘blue grey’ beef with Sirloin, Rib of Beef and T-Bone for two featuring alongside Dry aged pork chop & brandy pickled dates and Shoulder of lamb for four to share – a selection of sauces will accompany, including ‘Cacklebean mayonnaise’ and Cowboy butter. Desserts will comprise a Soft serve of almond & dill, Tart of the day, Brown sugar brulee and Trifle with preserved rhubarb & pistachio.

The restaurant primarily comprises counter-style seating at street-level, with window tables facing out onto a bustling Neal’s Yard. Downstairs there are a handful of tables nestled beside the walk-in wine cellars, with this space also available to book for private dining, or for larger groups. Story Cellar will run a continuous service throughout the day.
This new venture is a continuation of Tom’s first restaurant, Restaurant Story, which celebrates its 10th anniversary in 2023. The milestone is marked by a major refurbishment and the addition of an upstairs dining area with outdoor seating, with the space reopening in the autumn. Story Cellar, like Restaurant Story, is centred around top flight hospitality and fine wines, with the new venue also facilitating the extension of Restaurant Story’s own wine list, which will grow exponentially once reopened.
