Virgin Hotels London-Shoreditch Launches Anti-Valentines Break-Up Suite

Designed as the ultimate antidote to traditional Valentine’s clichés, the new ‘On and Up’ stay at Virgin Hotels London-Shoreditch blends self-care rituals, tongue-in-cheek empowerment moments and a signature Virgin attitude to celebrate the freedom of singlehood and fresh starts

As more travellers embrace independence over underwhelming dates, the ‘On and Up’ trend is reshaping how people spend the most romantic month of the year.

Solo travel and self-care have surged, with many choosing comfort, autonomy and meaningful time either alone or with friends. Virgin Hotels London-Shoreditch brings that shift to life with a stay crafted to help guests reset, recharge and move confidently, on and up.

A spokesperson for Virgin Hotels said: “This year, Virgin Hotels London-Shoreditch is raising a glass to the newly single, the self-partnered and anyone putting themselves first. The ‘On and Up’ Break-Up Suite is designed to champion your glow-up and welcome your next chapter. Whether you’re rediscovering your freedom or owning your main-character era, we’ve got your back.”

When booking the On & Up Break-Up Suite, guests are treated to a whole host of empowering surprises. In the suite it’s all about switching off and unwinding. Guests will find a curated edit of comforting treats and mood-boosting surprises, designed to turn their stay into a full reset.

A specially curated playlist by Abigail Clarke, veteran London DJ, celebrated for her deeply soulful and eclectic sets, brings together empowering anthems from Cher, Aretha Franklin, Blondie and Madonna, setting the tone for anyone stepping into their “doing just fine on my own” era.

What makes the hotel experience even sweeter is the suite’s signature smash cake, created in partnership with East London baking extraordinaire, Lily Vanilli, for a hit of “sweet catharsis.” Designed to be cracked open, shared with friends or savoured entirely solo, it captures the unapologetic spirit of leaving the past behind and rising ‘on and up’

Guests will also receive an ‘I Can Buy Myself Flowers’ voucher from Hackney-based florist Rebel Rebel Flowers per person with every booking, celebrating the art and joy of self-gifting and proving that Miley really was onto something.

Into the evening, guests are invited into Hidden Grooves, the hotel’s Japanese-inspired listening lounge, to choose from a selection of small plates and specialty cocktails curated for exclusively On and Uppers – because every comeback deserves a great cocktail.

Choose from the Heart of Glass cocktail, inspired by Blondie, where break-ups are about nonchalance and acceptance rather than heartbreak, or Roses Are Red Flags, channeling your inner Miley Cyrus and marking the first step in leaving the past and an ex firmly behind.

The package also includes access to 45 London’s rooftop bar, pool, restaurant, gym and club and guests are welcome to add-on an extra glow-up, courtesy of the Dr. Hauschka “One Hour For Myself” facial.

Available as a one-night stay throughout February, The “On and Up” Break-Up Suite offers an uplifting alternative to traditional Valentine’s escapes spotlighting self-worth, renewal and the joy of sharing a beautiful room with friends. No awkward dinners, no forced romance, just great drinks, great music and a seriously good night’s sleep.
