There’s no better time for whisky than on a chilly December day. Join The Balvenie’s UK Brand Ambassador, Sean Fennelly for a delightful evening of whiskies from the remarkable Speyside distillery, taking place in none other than the Claridge’s Wine Cellar.
The limited experiences each allow for a group of six whisky aficionados to discover The Balvenie’s unique approach to handcrafted whisky making, accompanied by delicious canapés.

Head for a feast at Roti King’s new Waterloo site
Roti King has announced it will open its third restaurant in the foodie hub of Lower Marsh, Waterloo this month. The Malaysian street food restaurant has gained an incredibly loyal following from its original Euston site and its second restaurant in Battersea Power Station which opened in 2022. Roti King Waterloo will open Friday 1st December.
From its beginnings as a street food concept, Roti King has grown into the brand that we know and love today. Authentic roti canai is made fresh every day, right in front of diners, with the same traditional skill and theatre that Head Chef and Founder Sugen Gopal learnt growing up.
All Roti Canai will be available with four different options of Kari; chicken, mutton, dahl and fish as well as the stuffed rotiMurtabak with a variety of fillings. Dishes served with fragrant coconut rice include Beef Rendang and Nasi Lemak, and noodle-based classics include Char Kuey Teow, stir fried flat rice noodles with egg, prawns and chicken, and Kari Laksa with egg noodles in a warming coconut broth, served with seafood and tofu.
To satisfy your sweet tooth, traditional desserts of filled sweet roti are a must, with options being Kaya – with coconut jam, Planta – with condensed milk and Pisang – with banana. South Asian beer by the bottle alongside canned wines, and cocktails by Moth make up the small but carefully curated drinks selection.
A key feature of the new menu is a focus on plant-forward dishes with as much flavour as their meaty counterparts. The newest dish on the menu is the Pulled Shitake Rendang which has been a labour of love from chef Sugen Gopal. For this dish, shiitake mushrooms are cooked down in aromatic spices in the traditional rendang style, served with fluffy coconut rice.

Tuck into a Thanksgiving feast with BRIX
If you’re hankering after a taste of Thanksgiving this year, BRIX restaurant and bar will be putting on a feast on Wednesday 22nd and Thursday 23rd November with a special all-American menu. Located in London Bridge (only minutes from Borough Market), the 8,500 sq ft warehouse venue draws inspiration from Manhattan’s Meatpacking District and Brooklyn’s all day dining scene.
The kitchen is headed up by award-winning chef, Radek Nitkowski, previously of Soho House Group. Highlights on his menu include Pulled beef truffled mac n’ cheese, Roast Norfolk turkey with chicken and apricot stuffing, cranberry sauce, and gravy, Sweet potato pie and a mouth-watering Maple, pecan and pumpkin crumble to finish.

Masala Zone Piccadilly Circus have launched breakfast, offering a unique menu exploration of India’s gastronomic regions and showcasing traditional Indian recipes. The new menu, which is the Masala Zone brand’s first foray into breakfast, reflects the iconic restaurant’s majestic and luxurious interiors, set within the iconic Criterion Building at Piccadilly Circus.
Breakfast at Masala Zone Piccadilly Circus aligns with the brand’s promise of real Indian food through using Indian spices, ingredients and recipes. The new menu provides an authentic taste of mornings across a number of Indian regions to all those who visit.
The culinary journey begins with Gujarat’s Wedding Scrambled Eggs, a renowned creamy Parsi banquet dish, served with Cinnamon and Raisin Toast, handmade in the kitchens that day. The custard soft bharuchi akuri originated from Gujarat, and includes two eggs, cashew nuts, almonds, green chilli, onions and cream, creating a luxurious start to the day.
Moving onto Northern India, with the Ginger and Tomato Bhurji, served with wholewheat paratha and scrambled eggs, as enjoyed during the winter mustard harvest in Punjab. Patna’s popular street-food Bihari Cup Omelette also features on the menu, which oozes a soft centre with onion, tomato and chill.
Venturing to South India, where traditional dosas contain Masala chaat or Lamb keema, and are accompanied by Sambar, a traditional vegetable stew. Kanchipuram Idlis, reputed to be India’s most popular breakfast dish from the famed Temple City, are steamed fermented lentil and rice cakes, served with curried lentil. Masala Zone Piccadilly Circus have tinged these with turmeric in tribute to the devotees of the city.

November 16th will see Niklas Ekstedt, culinary leader of Scandi destination, Ekstedt at The Yard, and Karan Gokani, Co-Founder and Creative Director of award-winning Sri-Lankan and South Indian restaurant, Hoppers, come together for an evening of spice and smoke.
Hosted at Ekstedt at The Yard, the one-off dinner will be a celebration of flavours and a meeting of two culinary minds: Niklas and Karan will join forces in the kitchen to bring together their beloved cultures and create an unexpected dining experience, available for one night only.
Served family style, each course has been created to incorporate Sri-Lankan spices and Swedish ingredients, all cooked over Ekstedt at The Yard’s signature open fire. The evening will be an opportunity for guests to share a communal table with fellow foodies, laden with a wealth of dishes to feast upon. The menu, created collaboratively and introduced by Niklas and Karan, will include:
- Burnt scallop with buttermilk and apple
- Smoked chilli cashews
- Grilled lobster, Kiri hodi and dill with oven dried tomatoes and pickle
- Banana leaf roasted fish and onion salad
Plus plenty more. Ekstedt at The Yard’s Head Sommelier, Kleo Kanellakis, will be pouring exquisite wines throughout the evening, expertly selected to complement the dishes. Wines will be served in a ‘free flowing’ style, to add to the informal and celebratory atmosphere of the evening.
£5 from each ticket sold will be donated to Feeding The Future, a charity setup by Hoppers, in aid of the political and economic crisis in Sri Lanka to help feed schools in the poorest districts.

Le Deli by Joël Robuchon International will open on the King’s Road in Chelsea on Monday 30th October. The new site will open early until late, with breakfast, lunch and dinner available to eat in or to take-away, as well as the exceptional bread and patisserie for which Le Deli Robuchon is known for.
Since the first Le Deli opened in Piccadilly in 2019, this casual yet sophisticated spot has become a staple in the area and the new location will be no different. Le Deli King’s Road will open for breakfast, offering French deli-style food all day, and then wine, cheese and charcuterie in the evenings. King’s Road locals will be the first to try the brand-new savoury iteration of Le Deli’s cube croissant, to be revealed on opening.
This smart but relaxed open-plan deli invites guests to enjoy the space from morning to night, with a cream leather seating area in full view of the extensive produce shelves, bearing the very best French pantry essentials, from beautiful boxes of Valrhona chocolates to artisanal jams.
The wrap-around deli counter occupies one end of the room and will be one of the few places in London to serve French rotisserie chicken, freshly cooked and available to take away or to eat in, alongside a selection of fresh seasonal salads. Guest will be able to watch the pastry chefs adding the finishing touches to their creations in the kitchen, while those sitting at the circular marble-topped tables at the front of Le Deli will be able to watch the world go by on the bustling King’s Road.
The food offering has been created by Group Executive Chef David Alves, who has brought a simple yet elevated French flair to the all-day menu at Le Deli. David was also key in the menu development at the recently relaunched L’Atelier Robuchon in Mayfair.
To kick off the day, early risers can choose from a cooked breakfast, with specialities including Eggs Benedict, Ham & Cheese or Goats Cheese Croissant, Avocado Omelette with Caviar, or classic freshly baked viennoiserie. From 10am onwards the renowned cube croissant Le Deli has become famous for will be available in a variety of flavours including Pistachio, Vanilla and Chocolate. Le Deli King’s Road will be introducing new croissant flavours as well as their first ever savoury cube.
For lunch, there will be a selection of salads, hot plates and daily specials, sandwiches and quiches. From mid-afternoon, Le Deli will offer a Champagne Afternoon Tea with mini sandwiches; Foie Gras Toast with Spiced Pear Compote, Cucumber Finger Sandwichesand Zucchini Aubergine Burgers, some of Le Deli’s famous pastries; Tarte au Citron and Éclair au Chocolat, alongside the classic scones with strawberry jam and Devonshire cream.

Bite into the Jack Stein x Hoppers collaboration
Jack Stein (renowned TV Chef and Chef Director of Rick Stein Restaurants) is teaming up with Karan Gokani (Co-Founder and Creative Director of leading Sri Lankan restaurants Hoppers) to bring two unique dining experiences to London – marrying spectacular seafood and produce from the south coast of Britain with the bold and aromatic flavours of Sri Lanka and South India.
Hosted by the culinary giants on Thursday 2nd November at Rick Stein Barnes (7pm) and Sunday 19th November at Hoppers Soho (12pm, 3pm & 5:30pm), embark on a flavour packed adventure with dishes including a showstopping whole Crab Curry plus Hot Butter Langoustines, Oysters with Buttermilk and a lot more. £5 from each ticket sold will be donated to Feeding The Future: Hoppers’ charity initiative working with Hemas Outreach Foundation (HOF) to provide early childhood care in disadvantaged communities in Sri Lanka.

Inspired by Jack’s own travels across Sri Lanka – paired with his Cornish background and devotion to fresh and sustainable catches – the seafood maestro has co-created a vibrant six-course menu with Karan and the team at Hoppers to bring some never-before-seen dishes and flavours to Barnes.
Seafood lovers can begin the evening with perfectly paired Oysters & Buttermilk; followed by indulgent Hot Butter Langoustines; a richly spiced Clam Hodi with Coombeshead sourdough from Cornwall; a soft-shell Crab Kothu, alongside Fish in Banana Leaf with Cornish Green Mallung. End with a Mango and Cardamom Rice Pudding – Jack’s homage to his dad Rick’s dessert in his book Far Eastern Odyssey. Prepare for an epic Sri Lankan family-style sharing feast with three sittings (12pm, 3pm and 5.30pm) on Sunday 19th November. Guests will be seated on long tables and served a selection of seafood classics by Jack and Karan, starting with Mussel Rasam, Nuts and Banana Chips followed by Mackerel Cutlets and Hot Butter Squid.
For mains, guests will enjoy Hoppers’ signature Crab Curry made with the finest British Brown Crabs, served alongside a selection of classic sides such as Lunu Miris, Dhal Curry, Cornish Green Mallung as well as String Hoppers and Milk Rice for soaking up all the curries.
The Sri Lankan favourite Chocolate Biscuit Pudding will provide the perfect finish to the feast. Inspired by the village toddy shops of Sri Lanka, Hoppers Soho’s intimate space offers guests a slice of island life in the heart of London. 2 ‘The British Revolution’ – Friday 24 November
Guests will discover the new and upcoming gems grown and produced throughout the UK. The tasting will begin with a glass of English sparkling wine, before moving on to two white and two red wines paired with canapes, priced at £75 per person.
