The Cadogan, A Belmond Hotel, London Welcomes Roberto Toro For Chef Residency

Chef Roberto Toro will take diners on a four-course culinary journey of authentic Sicilian cuisine in the heart of Chelsea this winter – and you’re invited to the action

Make your next Christmas present an edible one. For four-nights only from 28th November – 1st December 2022, The Cadogan, A Belmond Hotel, London will host a special guest chef residency. Foodies are invited to join Roberto Toro, Executive Chef at the Michelin-starred Otto Geleng restaurant in Belmond’s legendary Sicilian haven, Grand Hotel Timeo, A Belmond Hotel, Taormina for a feast for all the senses.

Ideal for a fine dining treat, Chef Roberto and his award-winning team have created an exclusive menu of signature Sicilian dishes with an added festive twist for The Cadogan’s stylish café -restaurant in the heart of Chelsea, The Lalee. 

Chef Roberto will take London diners on a four-course culinary journey of authentic Sicilian cuisine, as he recreates his iconic festive dishes for two ticketed events on Wednesday 30th November and Thursday 1st December.

Plates will be paired with a selection of fine wines and includes Ventresca Tuna, Artichoke with Liquorice Mousse and Spiced Etna Cola Apple. A limited-edition menu of four traditional dishes, such as Aeolian-Style Seabassand Sicilian Cannoli, will also be available throughout the takeover for both lunch and dinner bookings at The LaLee. 

Born in Sicily in 1975, Roberto Toro grew up in a family of farmers and after graduating from the School of Hotel Management and Catering, travelled the world to learn from international cuisines. Since returning home in 2006 he has worked at the Grand Hotel Timeo, becoming executive chef in 2012, and in 2018 he opened the Otto Geleng restaurant. The restaurant’s eight tables are set on the most iconic terrace of Taormina, for which he created a menu that enhances Mediterranean flavours, with a modern and personal twist. 

Just one year after its conception, Otto Geleng was awarded its first Michelin star. Now considered one of Italy’s most exclusive restaurants, serving dinner only and open to parties of up to 16 guests, The Cadogan is delighted to be collaborating with Chef Roberto and his team to bring a taste of Sicily to Chelsea.
