From innovative workout classes and must-try stretch sessions through to state-of-the-art fitness studios and free wellbeing events, here’s where to find the best wellness fixes in London right now

Join Fitness First UK for Red Light Therapy Yoga and Pilates

Tech-boosted fitness has never been so popular. Fitness First UK is bringing advanced recovery technology into the heart of the gym experience through a new partnership with science-backed wellness technology brand, BON CHARGETM. Recently launched at Fitness First’s Marylebone and Cottons clubs, the initiative introduces new Yoga and Pilates classes integrating BON CHARGE’s Red Light Therapy Blanket, giving members access to wellness technology more commonly found in specialist recovery studios and premium wellness clinics.

The classes are included within standard Fitness First memberships and will provide members access to wellness technology designed to support movement, relaxation and recovery in dedicated studios in the gym. This is the latest initiative that forms part of the Company’s mission to make premium wellness experiences more accessible to everyday members.

Fitness First will host multiple Red Light Therapy Yoga and Pilates classes each week, initially across two of its clubs in Marylebone and Cottons.

Fitness First will also introduce BON CHARGE’s Infrared PEMF Mat Max which combines Pulsed Electromagnetic Field (“PEMF”), red light and heat therapy into the recovery space at its Cottons club, making it one of the first mainstream UK gym chains to incorporate PEMF recovery technology.

Visit Virgin Active’s first Social Wellness Club in London

Virgin Active has announced the relaunch of the Mayfair site as its first Social Wellness Club in London – a new category of destination that goes beyond the traditional gym model to support the full breadth of how people live and work.

The relaunch marks a significant moment in Virgin Active’s global evolution. Across 224 Clubs in nine countries, serving more than a million members, the brand has been building toward a singular conviction: that people need their wellness memberships to genuinely support how they live. The Social Wellness Club is its answer to that shift.

The concept, which has already seen success in Milan, Cape Town, Sydney and Doha, arrives in the UK for the first time through the evolution of its landmark Mayfair Club which offers not just an upgrade, but a new standard, and a statement of Virgin Active’s long-term commitment to investing in its UK estate.

Rather than something separate from everyday life, the Social Wellness Club has been designed to sit naturally alongside it. A place where training, recovery, focus, connection, work and nutrition are brought together with intent – supporting how members move through their day, not pulling them away from it.

At its foundation remains training. Six dedicated studios including Combat, Lift Club, Cycle, Mind and Body, Reformer and Tower Pilates, and a 1:1 Pilates suite, are supported by a dedicated team of Personal Trainers delivering tailored programmes, and a fully equipped gym floor covering strength and cardio in equal measure.

From July, Mayfair members will have access to:

  • A contrast spa including Finnish sauna, infrared sauna, cold plunge, vitality pool and a 20m indoor pool
  • A recovery area incorporating heated hydromassage beds and the latest Hyperice technology
  • Longevity treatment rooms with on-site physios, osteopaths, sports therapists and performance specialists
  • On-site nutrition through Kauai Café, serving considered, protein-rich options throughout the day
  • Spacious co-working lounges with private meeting rooms and call booths, designed to be used between sessions, or long after.
  • A dedicated concierge supporting members’ everyday needs, from class bookings to on-site laundry

Reset with ME London’s Recovery Lab

Taking time to let your body recover can be just as important as the training itself. ME London has unveiled The Recovery Lab — offering guests a curated kit of red-light therapy tools and guided wellbeing rituals, delivered directly to their room. The experience can be added to any room booking to enjoy at leisure, and has been created in partnership with London wellness hub The Self Love Lab.

The Recovery Lab uniquely combines The Self Love Lab’s holistic practices rooted in manifestation and mindfulness with cutting-edge LED technology from leading skincare brand FOREO. Centred around relaxation, skin health and full-body recovery, guests can follow guided manifestations and rituals designed to regulate the nervous system while using FOREO’s latest innovations, including the Anti-Aging Silicone LED Mask.

Ultra-light and wireless, the mask offers eight targeted light wavelengths to address specific skin concerns — from smoothing the appearance of wrinkles (red light) to brightening (green) and reducing redness (yellow).

The Recovery Lab extends beyond facial care to deliver a fully immersive, multi-sensory experience, including LED hand and chest masks, a dual LED light panel, and wireless leg-recovery compression boots designed to ease muscle soreness, relieve tension and boost circulation.

This launch reflects a broader shift within hospitality, as hotels move beyond traditional spa models to embrace non-traditional wellness concepts. Red light therapy has seen a surge in popularity thanks to its reported benefits for skin rejuvenation, inflammation reduction and muscle recovery — cementing its place as one of the fastest-growing trends in global wellness. In response to the demands of modern life, travellers are seeking more intentional restoration.

Looking ahead, ME London will be expanding its wellness programming further with a series of LED-enhanced yoga sessions. These will take place in the hotel’s events space, The Pyramid Atrium — a striking architectural centrepiece known for hosting immersive brand experiences and cultural programming.

Wallet: The Recovery Lab will be available to book as an add-on to all stays from £80.
