The ‘Best Spanish Cocktail Bar’ Is Coming To London

The Bloomsbury Club Bar is set to welcome internationally acclaimed, Madrid based bar, 1862 Dry Bar, as part of its hugely successful Club Residencies Project


It’s tipple o’clock! The Bloomsbury Club Bar (BCB) will be welcoming the internationally acclaimed 1862 Dry Bar from Madrid, Spain as the fifth guest in its hugely successful Club Residencies Project.

World renowned 1862 Dry Bar – previously the winner of the “Best Spanish Cocktail Bar” Award in Mixology X Trends in Madrid – will kick-off a four day residency at the BCB on Tuesday 24th April.

They will be showcasing a bespoke cocktail menu featuring five of their signature drinks. Guests can sip on the refreshing Apple Stormy, a rye whiskey based drink combined with ginger beer and the popular Prescription, which combines Punt e Mes, Amer Picon, Campari and lemon juice, alongside their unique twists on three of the BCB’s own cocktails.

About Club Residencies Project
BCB’s ‘Club Residencies Project’ launched in November 2016 to great acclaim.  It kicked off with a residency from Athens’ The Clumsies,shortly followed by the first ever residency from New York’s  award winning BlackTail – voted best bar in America – and most recently, a residency from Australia, The Baxter Inn. 

During the evening, guests can expect to be transported to Madrid and absorb themselves in the full 1862 Dry Bar experience. there will be authentic Spanish music each night and a bespoke tapas menu will be available, taking inspiration from 1862’s signature dishes.

Menu highlights include: Jamón Ibérico; Tortilla Española; Spanish cheese board; Patatas bravas, Calamari rolls and Churros.

About 1862 Dry Bar
1862 Dry Bar is a classic cocktail bar set-up in an ancient palace in the center of historic Madrid. Named after the year in which the ancient palace was built and also the year the first cocktail book in history was published in the United States (‘The Bon Vivant’s Companion’ by Professor Jerry Thomas) 1862 Dry Bar is now recognised as one of the Spain’s best cocktail bars.

Since its opening, 1862 Dry Bar has received awards such as the “Best Cocktail Bar in Spain” in 2014 at the FIBAR Fair in Valladolid, as well as being shortlisted for “Best International Cocktail Bar” by “Tales of the Cocktails” last year.
