The stones have been excavated from the site itself, whilst the wooden beams and panels are made of teak and gum poles from Kenya. Even the walls consist of rammed earth.

What’s more, Lengishu runs entirely on solar power for both electricity and hot water – reducing its carbon footprint even further.

Having only opened its doors in December 2018, the new Kenyan property boasts breath-taking views of both Borana Conservancy and Lewa Conservancy.

This exclusive-use property can sleep up to 12 guests in its six unique rooms – meaning its an excellent choice for large groups.

The main house is central to the design with a large entrance hall leading to a study, a vaulted sitting room and a dining room which is warmed by two large fireplaces with glorious views. A covered veranda with a pizza oven allows for outdoor luncheons or evening entertaining.

Guests can also marvel at an art room with floor to ceiling windows or take a dip in the U-shaped pool, with views to the west. There’s also a handy gym and games room with a sundowner bar.

The master bedroom and Room One stand away from the main house with double beds, fireplaces and luxurious bathrooms, the master bedroom also has its own sitting room and dressing room.

The property has two further family cottages set into the hillside below, each with two en-suite rooms, a private sitting and dining room with large fireplace and veranda.
