Sip Of The Week: Mr Fogg’s Tavern’s Cointreau Slushie Cocktails

Helen Wilcock spills the details on The Wordrobe’s Sip of the Week: the eccentric Mr Fogg’s Tavern’s Cointreau Slushie Cocktails

Ideal for a fun summer sip, everyone’s favourite themed bar Mr Fogg’s Tavern in Covent Garden has partnered with Cointreau and Mount Gay Rum to create a beautiful flower installation and limited-edition amazing slushie cocktail menu.

Always one for pushing tastebud boundaries, the menu features two exotic cocktails which are guaranteed to cool you down during the British heatwave (which, fingers crossed, isn’t over yet).

The Caribbean Ice-Land features Mount Gay Black Barrel Rum, Angostura Bitters, sugar syrup, coconut and pineapple. It’s a spin on a classic Pina Colada cocktail which celebrates everything that is Barbados – three sips in, I was certainly thinking about getting on a plane to the tropical island.

The Cointreau Row Row Your Boat is made with Cointreau, Cabrito Blanco tequila, Bobb’s Abbott’s bitters, sugar and lime juice and is a twist on the iconic Margarita. Think of it as an extremely adult version of your childhood favourite summer drink. One word – yum.

The cocktails are £8 each but be warned they are rather delicious – so you’re guaranteed to want to have more than one.

I was lucky enough to try both but my favourite was the Caribbean Ice-Land. It was sweet and fruity, however, the alcohol was lurking beneath the carefree flavours so be careful not to over indulge.

The partnership is perfect for the long, light nights whilst the vibrant floral display makes for the perfect backdrop for your summer selfies and shots of the slushies. They are only available for a few more days so make sure your weekend plans include a visit!
