Making Waves: SwimTrek Achieves B Corp Certification

SwimTrek, the world’s leading open-water swimming holiday provider, has announced its certification as a B Corporation (B Corp), joining a global movement of businesses committed to balancing purpose with profit

SwimTrek has been certified by B Lab, the non-profit behind the B Corp movement, for meeting rigorous social and environmental standards, reflecting its dedication to positively impacting people, communities, and the planet.

The world’s leading provider of swim adventure experiences, SwimTrek specialise in small group guided swimming holidays in 50 of the best locations around the globe. Ideal for sporting enthusiasts or wellness lovers, these guided adventures provide a unique way to see the world and stay active.

With a focus on community, conservation, and adventure, SwimTrek is dedicated to creating unforgettable experiences that inspire a love for swimming and the natural environment – this new certification only further enhances this sustainable ethos.

How it works

The B Corp certification evaluates a company’s entire operations, assessing performance across five key impact areas: Governance, Workers, Community, Environment, and Customers.

To achieve certification, businesses must achieve a benchmark score of over 80 and demonstrate responsible practices related to environmental management, employee well-being, community engagement, and transparency.  SwimTrek’s certification also legally embeds its mission to deliver impact beyond shareholder profit.

SwimTrek joins a growing community of over 8,000 certified B Corps worldwide and more than 2,000 in the UK alone, spanning industries and company sizes.

As pioneers in the adventure travel industry, SwimTrek’s certification marks an important milestone for responsible tourism, signalling greater accountability and transparency in the sector. The achievement underscores SwimTrek’s ongoing commitment to sustainable travel practices, protecting marine environments, and ensuring a positive impact on the destinations and communities it works with worldwide.

Chris Turner, Executive Director of B Lab UK, told The Wordrobe:

“We are delighted to welcome SwimTrek to the B Corp community. This is a movement of companies committed to redefining success in business, proving it’s possible to deliver profit while prioritising people and the planet. SwimTrek is a fantastic addition to the community, setting an example for the adventure travel industry and showing that travel can be a force for good.”
