Every Thursday in April, join Chef Tristan Welch of Parker’s Tavern restaurant in Cambridge as he hosts virtual cooking classes via Instagram
#TristansCookAlong will take place at 6pm (GMT) via Parker’s Tavern Instagram page, offering foodies a chance to learn how to make delicious homemade dishes, each with a special Tristan twist.
Fans can also request a specific recipe by messaging @Parkers_Tavern with suggestions of dishes for the chef to conjure. A list of ingredients will be posted the day before the live Cook Along, allowing time to gather the necessary produce.
As well as sharing his cookery skills, Tristan is offering the opportunity to quiz him on how to cook more sustainably and reduce waste, during lockdown with his weekly #CulinaryClinic on Tuesdays.
Whether followers want to know how to use forgotten cupboard ingredients, leftovers or how to transform one dish into two meals, Tristan will be giving his expert advice and answering any food-related questions.
Each Monday, fans can write to Tristan via Parker’s Tavern Instagram stories and their queries will be answered on Tuesday.
In more ordinary circumstances, Tristan is usually found serving Parker’s Tavern’s flamboyant menu of locally sourced, seasonal food, with every dish designed to be a whimsical re-imagining of a British classic.
Tristan has plenty of experience cooking in front of audiences thanks to appearances on BBC2’s Great British Menu, BBC1’s Saturday Kitchen, Channel 4’s Drop Down Menu and most recently, Channel 4’s highly successful Snackmasters, which saw Tristan attempt to recreate the much loved Monster Munch crisps in the Parker’s Tavern kitchen.
