Five-Star Hotels Launch Lake-to-Lake Hotel Experience Across Italy and Switzerland

From Italian shores to Swiss alpine elegance. Two of Europe’s most iconic luxury lakeside destinations, Il Sereno Lake Como and Kulm Hotel St. Moritz, are launching a cross-border Lake-to-Lake journey this summer

Dreamy travel adventures await. This summer, two of Europe’s most iconic lakeside retreats are collaborating to create an extraordinary cross-border journey. Il Sereno on the tranquil shores of Lake Como and Kulm Hotel overlooking Lake St. Moritz in the Engadin Valley introduce an exclusive “Lake to Lake” experience, seamlessly connecting the timeless elegance of Italy with the alpine grandeur of Switzerland.

Available for bookings between June 12th and August 30th 2026, this limited-time, one-of-a-kind journey begins with two nights at Il Sereno Lago di Como, where guests stay in luxurious waterfront suites and enjoy an exclusive Michelin-starred dinner at Il Sereno Al Lago, along with the option of private lake excursions aboard Ernesto Riva self-drive boats.

The experience then continues as guests travel through scenic lakeshores and alpine passes – either in their own vehicle or via a Ferrari Roma Spider or vintage Alfa Romeo Spider with professional guides. The itinerary concludes in St. Moritz with a two-night stay at Kulm Hotel in elegant Junior Suites, complemented by a 50-minute relaxation massage at the award-winning Kulm Spa, all set against sweeping views of the lake and Swiss Alps.

Bridging the two storied destinations is a spectacular drive along the twisty roads of Lake Como, up the historic Maloja Pass switchbacks, leading to the calming roads by the lakes of Engadin. The experience is designed primarily for guests travelling with their own vintage or high-performance vehicles, offering collectors and enthusiasts the opportunity to enjoy the journey in their personal car. For those who prefer a curated option, a supercar or vintage automobile may be arranged upon request.

To enhance the experience, a special music playlist curated by Arman Naféei, the world-celebrated Directeur d’Ambiance at Kulm Hotel, will accompany guests along the route, evoking the atmosphere of lakes, water, and countryside landscapes.

The experience starts in Lake Como at Il Sereno, widely acclaimed as one of most distinctive hotels on these shores by Condé Nast Traveller, Travel + Leisure and the Michelin Guide, for its modern design, discreet luxury and strong connection to the surrounding landscape. Here each of the spacious waterfront suites features floor-to-ceiling windows and expansive, furnished terraces, offering uninterrupted views of the lake.

The brand-new Darsena Listening Suite is a temple for audiophiles, willing to rediscover their favorite music with pure sound while relaxing on the terrace, laying on a front-lake king-size bed or splashing on the lake water from the exclusive gate of the suite.

At Il Sereno foodies may taste the delicious dishes of Executive Chef Raffaele Lenzi at Michelin-starred restaurant Il Sereno Al Lago, while guests seeking relaxation might unwind at the serene spa, where treatments by Valmont provide a restorative escape, or just rest at the hotel’s 60-foot-long freshwater infinity pool. Custom-crafted Ernesto Riva boats are available to rent to those willing to explore the surrounding waters in a stylish way.

Upon arrival in St. Moritz, guests wind through the dramatic Engadin passes as Lake St. Moritz shimmers into view and Kulm Hotel rises above the shore. Following check in, guests settle into elegantly appointed Junior Suite accommodations that blend alpine heritage with contemporary comfort, many offering sweeping lake or mountain views, before unwinding with a 50-minute Relaxation Massage at the award-winning Kulm Spa.

Days unfold between tea times at the historic nine-hole Kulm Golf Course, tennis framed by alpine peaks, and swimming and paddleboarding on the crystalline lake. As evening falls, guests dine at one of Kulm’s six restaurants, including Mauro Colagreco’s Kulm Country Club, while lakeside picnics offer a more understated culinary escape.

At the Kulm Country Club Bar, music curated by Arman Naféei and hand-picked weekend DJs sets the tone for a refined aperitivo. Together, these moments capture the full essence of St. Moritz, blending heritage, adventure, wellness and contemporary alpine culture.

“At The Leading Hotels of the World, we exist to bring together independent hotels that define remarkable quality and a true sense of place. This collaboration between Il Sereno Lago di Como and Kulm Hotel St. Moritz is a natural expression of that community, where two distinctive destinations come together to offer travellers a more immersive and meaningful journey. It speaks to our mission of creating uncommon experiences that extend beyond a single stay,” commented Dean Bannon, LHW’s Vice President, Member Success & Development.
