Ideal for any cocktail connoisseur, The Churchill Bar & Terrace in Marylebone will be joining forces with two of the world’s most exciting bars – Dante (New York City) and Paradiso (Barcelona) for a duo of special bartending evenings this December
Pour it up, pour it up – award-winning Marylebone bar, The Churchill Bar & Terrace, is to host two exclusive bartending evenings at the start of December with two of the world’s leading bars – Dante in New York City and Paradiso in Barcelona. Ideal for anyone with an interest in rare and intricate tipples, both venues will be bringing their expert skills from across the pond and creating their own exclusive cocktails for this special event.
The two bars will be participating in unique bartending evenings which will run in accordance with the annual World’s 50 Best Bars awards on the 7th December. With sponsorship from Mancino Vermouth and Scrappy’s Bitters, the collaboration between the bars is a chance for some of the world’s best bartenders to come together, whilst showcasing a spectacular menu of handcrafted cocktails.
1 Dante: Sunday 5th December, between 5pm – 10pm
The first of the two guest bars is Dante in New York, who has been voted the Number 1 Best Bar in the World by The World’s 50 Best Bars. Located in Greenwich Village, Dante opened its doors in 1915 and is now a registered New York City landmark, where its historical integrity and sense of community remains; with menu highlights including The Dante Martini with Mancino Vermouth, gin, vodka, a lemon liqueur, olive and lemon bitters; as well as the Martini with a Twist.
Dante’s Beverage Director, Chris Moore, will be flying over from the Big Apple to concoct a series of unique cocktails. Chris Moore joined Dante in Autumn 2020 and oversees the bar’s award-winning cocktail programme. He will be returning to London where he previously worked at the Savoy Hotel’s Beaufort Bar and opened Coupette, also listed in The World’s 50 Best Bars, before leaving in 2019.
2 Paradiso: Wednesday 8th December, between 5pm – 10pm
Next up, Barcelona’s Paradiso bar, which is currently ranked as Number 19 in The World’s 50 Best Bars, will also serve up an exclusive menu at The Churchill Bar & Terrace, starting at 5pm before wrapping up at approximately 10pm.
The speakeasy-inspired bar in Barcelona is a fabulously quirky venue, where guests enter through a pastrami bar refrigerator. The bar’s owner, Giacomo Giannotti, who is originally from Tuscany, Italy, is an award-winning bartender and stablished Paradiso in 2015, using the same name as his family’s Tuscan ice-cream shop.
Paradiso and Giacomo will be serving up five different cocktails, all from the new menu inspired by the universe and natural phenomena, for their bartending evening at The Churchill Bar & Terrace. Menu highlights include the iconic Tornado a Spritz, with Mancino Vermouth, vodka, bergamot liqueur, cava and goji cordial, and a jasmine apple kombucha with chamomile.
They will also be serving their signature cocktail, The Cloud, which includes mezcal, Mancino Vermouth, amaro, Spanish smoked chillies, and an edible cloud flavoured with coffee – a revolutionary new technique.
The two exclusive events are sponsored by Mancino Vermouth and Scrappy’s Bitters. Blended with the finest ingredients and used as a main ingredient in most cocktails, Mancino Vermouth is perfect as an all day aperitif, served neat, chilled or over ice. The events’ second sponsor, Scrappy’s Bitters, was founded by Seattle bartender Miles Thomas in 2008, where they create some of the world’s finest handcrafted bitters. Both can be found in various cocktails and concoctions at The Churchill Bar & Terrace.
