Taking place this September on the beautiful shores of Lake Lucerne in Switzerland, join Bürgenstock Resort Lake Lucerne and top chefs Mike Wehrle, Franz Wiget and Asma Khan for a three-day event filled with mouth-watering gastronomic fun

If there’s anything better than a trip to Switzerland, it’s a trip to Switzerland filled with top chef cuisine. Following the event’s inaugural success back in 2019, Bürgenstock’s EAT Series will return for another year this autumn, taking place from Saturday, 10 to Monday, 12 September 2022 with a schedule jam-packed with edible opportunities.

Designed to offer a celebration of the senses and all things delicious, Culinary Director Mike Wehrle will be joined by Franz Wiget and Asma Khan, as well as renowned personalities from the Swiss and German gastronomic scenes. As well as live cooking demonstrations, foodies can enjoy an array of stands serving up a wide variety of dishes and delights.

No ordinary event venue, The Bürgenstock Resort Lake Lucerne is part of The Bürgenstock Collection based in Zug, Switzerland and is one of the area’s most luxurious properties. Not only does it boast 10 restaurants, lounges and bars, the resort comprises 383 rooms and suites spread over four hotels with a Health & Medical Center and the Tavern to boot too. Here’s what’s awaiting with this slice of paradise…

1 Guest Chef Franz Wiget: Saturday, 10 September 2022

This appearance marks the end of a brilliant career: until a few weeks ago, the 61-year-old Swiss ran the Chalet Adelboden in Schwyz, in which he was awarded 2 stars in the Michelin Guide and 18 points in GaultMillau. For 35 years he was the chef of the venerable house, Chalet Adelboden, built in 1773 and was awarded the title “Rising Star of the Year” by GaultMillau in 2001 and “Chef of the Year” in 2012.

His trademark classic cuisine focuses on excellent, often regional products such as the creation of his sauces with unbelievable depth and complex aromas were known across Europe. These skills will be shown twice at the Bürgenstock EAT Series: on Saturday evening, 10 September 2022 in the Brasserie Ritzcoffier and on Sunday under the motto “Chefs united” with Asma Khan and Mike Wehrle in the Palace Hotel.

3 Guest Chef Event Asma Khan – Monday, 12 September 2022

You can taste her Indian roots in every one of her dishes and recipes: The 52-year-old was born in West Bengal and now lives in London. Before she started her career as a chef, she studied law and graduated from King’s College London.

Only then did she start a supper club in her flat in Kensington before opening the all-female restaurant Darjeeling Express in Covent Garden. She then went on to publish the cookbook “Asma’s Indian Kitchen”, appeared in the Netflix documentary series “Chef’s Table” and was named number one in Business Insiders “100 Coolest People in Food and Drink” in 2019.

At the Bürgenstock EAT Series, Asma will also be tempting guests twice: on Sunday she will be cooking with her colleagues at the Palace Hotel and on Monday evening she will be delighting guests with her recipes at Spices Kitchen & Terrace.
