Wellness Review: The Spa at Park Hyatt London River Thames

When the daily grind of early alarms, meetings, deadlines and modern day email jousting all gets a bit much, the respite of Park Hyatt London River Thames’s modern spa provides the perfect way to recharge with a simple afternoon of all out luxury.

With an entire floor dedicated to urban wellbeing within this Vauxhall-based skyscraper stay, recharge your batteries with some seriously decadent downtime. Sophie Ritchie shares more:

The Venue

The Spa at Park Hyatt London River Thames review - The Wordrobe

Opened in October 2024, Park Hyatt London River Thames is a modern haven of timeless luxury and serene surroundings, set within a tower so tall it can be spotted for miles around.

Featuring 203 guestrooms spread across 18 floors, its striking glass and limestone facade acts like a beacon of architectural excellence, with an exterior design conjured by architectural firm KPF.

Soaring up into the sky, the building also houses an additional number of Park Hyatt-branded residences located on the upper levels, with an adjacent tower dedicated to further private lodgings. As well as the luxurious abodes, Park Hyatt London River Thames also offers an entire floor dedicated to pampering both guests and non-residents.

An airy space so large that you’ll probably clock up your daily step count simply wandering through the different areas, it feels a little otherworldly from the moment you breeze past reception and enter the gender-separated changing rooms. From here, it’s clothes off and robes on, where wooden panelled walls and soft lighting immerse you into a world of sleek serenity. As well as full-sized in-house toiletries, the lavish changing rooms also come kitted out with private saunas, one for each locker room.

The Facilities

Continue to step through and you’ll wander into the main pool area, which is simply jaw-dropping thanks to its strikingly contemporary design and six-foot ceiling. Here, light cleverly pours through from the windows to create symmetric diamond patterns in the water, shimmering alongside you as you swim and enhancing the futuristic ambience.

Unusually large for a hotel pool, its 20 by 8-metre size makes it vast enough for both lounging and laps – with neither activity interrupting the other. Post-dip, the many comfortable loungers surrounding the modern infinity pool invite you to drift away and simply relax in the warm and peaceful atmosphere.

The Treatments

For those in need of further TLC, the Spa At Park Hyatt London River Thames also includes six private treatment rooms where expert therapists melt tension away with bespoke experiences tailored to individual needs, whether that be a massage, facial or full day of pampering.

With a range of rejuvenating treatments in partnerships with high end brands such as Ling Skincare and The | Tides to try at the spa, these experiences focus on enhancing core pillars of modern wellness: energy, longevity, youthful beauty, and restful sleep.

From a DNA (Do Not Age) to a C The Difference facial, there’s a distinct focus on healing the body from within – whether that’s improving sun damage and boosting collagen production or promoting rejuvenation of youthful skin cells themselves.

I opt for the Back to Brilliance massage, a 60-minute session carefully curated to restore balance and provide a serious energy boost. It’s perfect for those who feel a bit overwhelmed with the non-stop pressures of daily life – inviting a guest to simply take time for themselves and enjoy the pampering moments. I do just that, feeling rather drowsy by the time by therapist gently informs me that the tension-melting massage has finished.

Post-treatment, I’m led in my now slightly sleepy state back to the spa’s relaxation lounge, where riverside seats positioned perfectly next to the hotel’s waterside view await for a few moments of solitude-led serenity, fresh tea and magazine reading.

The Fitness

For those staying longer (or perhaps simply addicted to the buzz of movement) there’s also an excellent fitness centre within these gleaming walls. Bring your trainers and make the most of a 1,550-square-foot space decked out with double-height ceilings and sprawling views thanks to floor-to-ceiling windows (a beautiful reoccurring design feature of this impressive hotel).

Expect all the TechnoGym favourites, plus a wide variety of free weights and even personal training services for those who want to go the extra mile (literally). Whether it’s mat work or treadmill training, there’s something for every gym bunny here.

The Wordrobe Verdict

There’s serious wellness appeal within these walls. Park Hyatt London River Thames’ tucked away spa is a modern haven of discreet relaxation. Prepare to feel transformed by the time you return the robe thanks to its pristine facilities and soothing ambience, a combination that delivers a dose of powerful respite before returning back to reality.
