One Size Fits ‘Sole’: Vivobarefoot Launches New Trainer Recycling Initiative

Stepping up their sustainability efforts, Vivobarefoot has just launched an exciting new ReVivo program to recycle old trainers from any brand – with an enticing 20% discount on new Vivobarefoot footwear thrown in too

The initiative sees the minimalist, barefoot-inspired footwear brand take back old, used trainers from any brand for recycling. If you’re based in the UK, Europe or the United States, you and your tattered old shoes are eligible to partake.

Designed to help consumers be more aware of their consumption habits and use their shoes for longer, anyone who takes part in the scheme will receive a 20 percent discount on a new pair of Vivobarefoot footwear – provided they send in their old trainers for recycling.

The programme was initially first launched in 2020, where via the brand’s ReVivo platform, customers could send in their used or worn Vivobarefoot shoes to be restitched, fixed, or resoled so they can keep on using them.

The new Take Back scheme expands this offering and opens up the offer to all brands – a one size fits ‘sole’ programme where trainers from any brand can be recycled if sent in. Whether they’re your beloved marathon favourites or hiking go-tos, any shoes are welcome.

Since the initial 2020 launch, ReVivo has refurbished over 170,000 pairs of Vivobarefoot shoes. During the financial year 2023/2024, the brand renewed a record amount of footwear, 62,300 pairs, compared to 41,300 in the previous year.

In addition, Vivobarefoot reported seeing a 20 percent increase in year-on-year growth in the UK, with customers sending in their Vivos shoes for repair. Hasta La Vivo, old trainers.

If you’re keen to take part, the Take Back initiative on Vivobarefoot Revivo program is now available online at ReVivo.com. Please note, only customers in the US, UK and Europe are currently eligible.
