Heckfield Place, the restored country haven in the heart of Hampshire, will continue its programme of events and happenings with an exquisite open-fire dining experience from Skye Gyngell and one of the most prolific and pioneering names in Nordic gastronomy, Niklas Ekstedt on the 15th November.

As part of the next instalment of the much-celebrated Hearth Supper series, Ekstedt will take to the pass alongside Heckfield Place Culinary Director, Skye Gyngell, to celebrate the height of autumn with a feast cooked over fire.

The intimate evening will be hosted at Hearth, the onsite restaurant that celebrates the slow-and-simple, using the best produce available each day from Heckfield’s estate and its like-minded suppliers to curate menus centred around open-fire cooking.

A spearhead in the progression of Stockholm’s exploding food scene, Ekstedt’s innovative recipes and techniques have had a profound impact on the culinary scene worldwide. Ekstedt at The Yard, Niklas’ first UK opening, brought his signature style of wood fired ‘old Nordic’ cooking to the UK for the very first time, and to critical acclaim.

His signature style sees all dishes cooked on fire, using the smoke, ashes and soot of Scandinavian wood to give each dish a truly unique character.

The 15th of November will see the duo serving sharing-style dishes on the four long communal tables. Guests can expect seafood to start the evening, with Ekstedt taking to the head of the tables to introduce his renowned, innovative approach to cooking.

Mains will be a lamb inspired dish served alongside seasonal produce directly from the farm at Heckfield Place with homemade brioche. Dessert will be individually plated, pairing sharp Scandinavian berries with rich flavours made from the dairy produced at Home Farm. To complete the experience, the Heckfield team will pair each course with a wine.
