Two of the world’s only MICHELIN-starred BBQ chefs host month-long residency at The Ned

Led by two of the world’s only MICHELIN-starred BBQ chefs, InterStellar BBQ and la Barbecue will bring the flavours of Austin to The Ned, City of London for a one-month residency celebrating world-class barbecue and Southern hospitality

Calling all barbecue lovers. From September 4th, for one-month only, Electric Bar & Diner at The Ned will become London’s home of authentic Texan barbecue as two of Austin’s most celebrated pitmasters, MICHELIN-starred chefs John Bates from InterStellar BBQ and Ali Clem from la Barbecue join forces for an exclusive culinary collaboration and the ultimate BBQ tray.

For a limited time, guests will experience the very best of Texas’ renowned barbecue culture, with award-winning pitmasters from both restaurants serving a menu that showcases the craftsmanship, provenance, patience and bold flavours that have made Austin one of the world’s most exciting food destinations.

Created exclusively for The Ned, the sharing tray, weighing in at a whopping 1.3kg (not including the brisket at 250g), brings together signature dishes from both restaurants, including Peach Tea Glazed Pork Belly, Pulled Lamb Shoulder, Chimichuri Beef Short Rib, Pork Ribs and Chopped Cheese Sausage, accompanied by Texas Toast, la Barbecue Queso Shells & Cheese, InterStellar Beans and Beetroot Salad.

Guests will have the option to add on the infamous la Barbecue USDA prime brisket sourced from Creekstone Farm. For the final flourish, InterStellar’s Banana pudding with Jack Daniels caramel will be a signature end to this authentic Texan experience.

To complement the menu, Jack Daniel’s has created a bespoke cocktail list inspired by the spirit of Tennessee and the bold flavours of the American South, pairing classic whiskey serves with contemporary twists. Pickle Backs will make a return, the ‘Texan Sun’ which is an Old Fashioned twist with corn and honey. There will be a new Hard Shake with Jack Daniels Bonded, banana and raisin and a cocktail with Jack Daniels old No7, oolong, apricot and white chocolate.

Together with Visit Austin, the official marketing organisation for Austin, the collaboration celebrates the evolution of American barbecue, bringing together two of the industry’s most influential names for an experience that blends heritage, innovation and exceptional hospitality originating from the home of authentic Texan BBQ in London.

InterStellar BBQ has earned international acclaim for its meticulous, post‑oak approach to smoking meats, securing one MICHELIN Star in the inaugural Texas edition of the MICHELIN Guide. la Barbecue was recognized alongside InterStellar, also receiving one MICHELIN Star for its expertly smoked brisket, house‑made sausages, and steadfast commitment to traditional Central Texas barbecue.

Earlier this year, la Barbecue further distinguished itself with a James Beard recognition, underscoring its role as one of the city’s most influential and enduring barbecue institutions.
