Embrace the culture at the Alto Rooftop X Lacoste terrace takeover

With the highly anticipated tennis tournament just around the corner, celebrate the summer of sport at one of the capital’s most iconic sky-high dining spots, Alto by San Carlo.
Aptly named the ‘Le Club Lacoste’ and perched atop one of the world’s most prestigious department stores, Selfridges, London, the restaurant and terrace has transformed into an immersive sporting haven in partnership with Lacoste, complete with live screenings so you can witness every smash and serve while you relax in the sunshine.
Running until 21st July, and part of Lacoste’s wider celebration of sport this summer at Selfridges, step onto the tennis courts with the Italian inspired trattoria decked with lush greenery and vibrant visuals reminiscent of Wimbledon’s legendary pitches. The space also plays host to Lacoste’s archive, showcasing images from René Lacoste’s impressive tennis career, encapsulating the true essence of the fashion sport brand.
Sip on a cocktail from a range of limited-edition varieties including the René with Amaro Montenegro, lemon, Champagne and raspberries; Casa Crocodile with spiced rum, pineapple, lime, passionfruit and blue liqueur and for a non-alcoholic option, Match Point Spritz with strawberry, basil, lemon, elderflower, lemonade. Indulge in authentic Italian cicchetti dishes including Battuta di Manzo Marinata, beef fillet carpaccio dressed with rosemary oil, black truffle with mayonnaise and carrots; Risotto al Basilico with basil pesto and green asparagus; Lemon Sole with sautéed clams and green asparagus; and Avocado e Pearls Tartufo, avocado and truffle pearls served with pizza bread.
For dessert, opt for the Grand Slam, marinated strawberries on Italian Maraschino served with vanilla cream and topped with Italian meringue, enjoyed with a front row seat to the games across the large digital screens.

Partake in the tennis-inspired popup at Rubens at the Palace

If you didn’t get centre court tickets, you can still enjoy the action in style. The five-star Rubens at the Palace hotel in Victoria has launched a Wimbledon-inspired pop up, Sweet Serve, in partnership with Lanson Champagne.
Award-winning pastry chef, Paula Stakelum (Red Carnation Hotels’ Global Director of Chocolate and Pâtisserie), will be taking over The Rubens’ Leopard Room from 1-14 July, serving a unique taste-led experience to celebrate Wimbledon season. Every electric moment of the tournament will be screened live in the specially decorated bar, as guests enjoy Paula’s exclusive tennis-themed pastry and a glass of refreshing Champagne Lanson. A delicious combination of strawberries & cream and white Valrhona ‘Opalys’ chocolate makes this the Grand Slam of desserts.
