No need to hide when it comes to a delectable game of Hithe + Seek in the heart of the City, says writer Alissa Stroud
Bar and kitchen Hithe + Seek is a foodie haven tucked away within the sleek Westin London City Hotel, offering gorgeous views of the Thames and beyond.
The space exudes Art Deco-inspired elegance, complete with mood lighting and gold embellishments, yet its cozy ambiance invites you to unwind on a comfortable sofa with a cocktail or two. The luxurious banquette positioned in the lower section of the restaurant offers the best seat in the house, with those uninterrupted views only serving to enhance the dining experience.

The sight of boats gently drifting along the Thames and the bustling activity at the Tate Modern and the Globe Theatre, all viewed from the comfort of your seat with a drink in hand, is an utterly blissful experience.
The kitchen, led by head chef Fabio De Paolis, typically serves up a melting pot of cuisines. The menu is designed to be an immersive and adventurous encounter, showcasing flavours, ingredients and techniques from across the globe.
Whilst the main menu sounds truly tempting – with dishes such as braised mangalitza pork belly with peanut crumble in a bao bun, and white bait fritters with spicey green mango – we were visiting on a warm May evening to try the latest in Hithe + Seek’s series of exclusive chef partnerships.
MasterChef: The Professionals contestant and Co-Founder of Palette Dining and Hash Hut London, James Sharp, teamed up with head chef Fabio De Paolis to offer a unique tasting menu experience showcasing each chef’s unique skill and style.

Fabio offers a deep understanding of classic techniques, flavour combinations and regional specialities; whilst James’ expertise lies in the fusion of sophisticated fine dining flavours with accessible street food dishes.
Highlights on the menu included the chickpea panisse with apricot harissa and charcoal roasted vegetables which had the perfect level of heat, as well as the mini-venison saddle wellington with corn-fed chicken breast duxelles and tarragon bernaise, and the iconic brown butter hash brown with beef tartare, coal-oil emulsion, Lyonnaise onions and raw mushroom – undoubtedly the boujiest hash brown I have ever had and so delicious.

The Wordrobe Verdict
Whilst the menu is no longer available, I would highly recommend you keep an eye out for the next instalment in the series as it’s sure to be another culinary sensation. And, in the meantime, Hithe + Seek is a must visit spot in any case if you’re a fan of good food, creative cocktails and stunning views.
