Get a terrace fix with Hotel Café Royal’s Green Bar

Hotel Café Royal’s Green Bar has launched a new menu and outdoor terrace with a series of exciting collaborations. Now open, the sophisticated Green Bar Summer Terrace, located just off Regent Street, is set to become the new neighbourhood cocktail bar, and the perfect spot to enjoy long, sunny evenings. The vibrant new cocktail menu, which blends the bar’s heritage with a fresh approach to mixology is focused on simple, elegant ingredients combined with world-class spirits.
Paying homage to the hotel’s storied past, and the legacy of William J. Tarling, Head Bartender at Café Royal in the 1930s, and author of the infamous Café Royal Cocktail Book, the menu combines timeless sophistication with contemporary flair, using high-end spirits, proudly spotlighting independent distilleries and specialist producers.
The new menu has been carefully divided into three key offerings:
Unique Experiences – This is a celebration of exceptional and rare spirits, including drinks such as the d’Azur Negroni, the Suave Mirror Margarita, and the Seventy One Gold Martini, showcasing unique drinks in an experience-led offering.
Seasonal Pairings – These cocktails are an ode to the art of combining exceptional spirits with fresh ingredients to boost the already vibrant flavours. At Hotel Café Royal’s Green Bar, some of these pairings include Gin & Olives, using No. 3 Gin and some of the world’s best olives, Scotch & Mango, made with Glen Grant and Mango Puree to bring out the mango flavours in the Scotch, and a Mezcal & Ancho, which includes Motelobos Mezcal and Ancho liqueur.
Signature Classics – The Green Bar also celebrates timeless recipes from the original Hotel Café Royal Cocktail Book, published in 1937, and included drinks from original Members of the United Kingdom Bartenders’ Guild. For example, F.E Morland’s ‘Crazy Crossing’, J. Stephen’s, ‘New Victoria’ and J.E. Johnson’s ‘Incognito’ are all available to enjoy, 87 years on. Another Signature Classic is the Café Royal Special, created by the legendary William J. Tarling. This drink is a refreshing combination of Hendrick’s Gin, Boatyard Slow Gin, Honey Syrup, Créme de Mure and Lemon Juice.
For those looking to go alcohol free, the new menu also offers a host of delicious options, including three carefully designed non-alcoholic cocktails: the Peach & Hibiscus, Mango & Ginger, and Basil and Apple.

Explore 100 Found Objects, Yinka Ilori MBE’s new public installation at Fulham Pier

Acclaimed British-Nigerian artist and designer Yinka Ilori MBE has unveiled a major new public installation at Fulham Pier, marking a bold new chapter in the area’s cultural narrative.
Titled 100 Found Objects, Ilori’s evocative artwork celebrates the stories past and present that shape Fulham’s identity and communities. Drawing inspiration from objects found in and around Fulham as well Fulham’s local flora and fauna, 100 Found Objects represents a fountain of history and vessels for stories and hidden pasts that Ilori reframes through a contemporary lens.
Fulham Pier is London’s most exciting new destination, bringing a vibrant mix of dining, entertainment and cultural activity to the backdrop of the iconic River Thames. The installation spans the full length of Fulham Pier with key elements located at the Hammersmith and Putney entrances, on the building’s façade, as well as along the glass balustrades framing the new boardwalk overlooking the Thames.
The artwork includes lenticular panels that shift and move with the viewer’s perspective, with a 3D element bringing to life the objects within a floral landscape inspired by Fulham’s rich heritage of craftsmanship and cultivation.
Ultimately, 100 Found Objects is both a homage and invitation: to look closer, appreciate what’s around us, and acknowledge the histories that shape us while connecting communities today and into the future. This landmark commission is free to view, enriching Fulham Pier’s evolving public realm and redefining how the local community, Londoners and visitors experience one of the Capital’s newest riverside destinations.
PLUS: Fulham Pier will be hosting an Opening Weekend of Celebrations from 20th – 22nd June. A free weekend of activities, from interactive art sessions to live performance, including by Fulham-born Londoner, Example.

Celebrate eight years of deliciousness with Lupins’ limited-edition menu

Lupins, the quietly brilliant seasonal small plates restaurant tucked just behind Borough Market, is turning eight this June, and is marking the milestone with a special limited edition menu of fan favourite and most-loved dishes from over the years.
Available for just two weeks from Tuesday 10th June, the Lupins Greatest Hits Birthday Menu brings back signature plates that regulars are always asking for. The menu is a celebration of everything that has defined Lupins since opening in 2017 – bold, seasonal cooking that heroes ingredients, rooted in the best of British produce and delivered with warmth, generosity and soul.
Small plates include the restaurant’s signature crab thermidor with garlic bread and radish salad, a dish that captures Lupins’ playful, nostalgic take on classic comfort food. Pan-fried hake on a bed of ’nduja risotto with lemon mayonnaise returns by popular demand – a plate described by Giles Coren as “genuinely historic.” There’s also bruschetta with saffron-braised courgettes and goats curd, burrata with datterini tomatoes and basil, and rare onglet with anchovy and caper sauce and watercress. New potatoes, rocket with lemon and parmesan, and plenty of good bread are there to help soak it all up.
To finish, there’s strawberry mousse with shortbread, Neal’s Yard cheeses with honey and crackers, and of course, Birthday sprinkle cake, because no celebration is complete without one. Chocolate lovers can also revisit the much-loved chocolate ganache with caramel, sea salt and olive oil.
As Lupins turns eight, the restaurant remains fiercely independent and proudly local. It’s proof that a restaurant doesn’t need fanfare to be exceptional, just good food, good people, and an ethos that puts care above all else.

Marvel at The BoTree in Bloom

The BoTree, a luxury hotel in Marylebone, has unveiled a breathtaking immersive floral installation on the external lattice by renowned florist and artist Hamish Powell.
The 6 week collaboration is a celebration of vibrancy and growth at The BoTree – Powell’s vision is a design led representation of The BoTree blooming this Spring for its second year.
At the heart of this transformation is Powell’s signature style – an interplay between structure and wildness, precision and emotion. Sculptural silhouettes of flowers, crafted from tillandsia moss set amongst cascades of pink tillandsia garlands, hanging cacti, and mixed bromeliads. Towering palms frame the space, while chandeliers of exotic bromeliad plants, bringing an added vibrancy to Marylebone.
Subtle, warm lighting enhances the installation’s depth and dimension, ensuring its splendour is just as captivating by night. Waterproof spotlights are strategically placed to highlight key elements while maintaining an energy-efficient footprint. Inside, a sculptural centrepiece brings the takeover into The BoTree’s lobby.
Powell, whose floral compositions have graced fashion houses including VOGUE, LOEWE, Hermès, and Burberry, approaches flowers as both a scientific study and an artistic medium. His ability to blend botanical precision with emotional resonance transforms spaces into sensory experiences. With installations spanning the globe – from Los Angeles to Paris, Sydney to Singapore – his work continues to push the boundaries of what floristry can be.
The installation will launch in tandem with a range of botanical cocktails available to the public at The BoTree Bar and LAVO, including The BoTree Bloom & Fizz Spritz made with Grey Goose vodka, Pómello Apéritif, orange blossom and soda water, The Powell Paloma, a punchy and playful mix of Pómello Apéritif, Patron Silver tequila, grapefruit, agave, lime, garden edible pansy and Tigerella tomato sparkling water, and The Botanist’s Tonic with Tanqueray No.TEN gin, Pómello Apéritif, lemon, coriander, black pepper and aromatic jasmine petal.

Indulge at Adam Handling’s new chocolate boutique

Most things Adam Handling touches turn to gold, but this is the first time the chef can literally claim they’re turned to chocolate – in the form of his lovely little Covent Garden boutique.
Working with award-winning chocolatier Paul Stradling, Adam’s masterminded a capsule collection of 21 filled chocolates, their hand-painted, jewel-like finishes as pleasing to a magpie-eye as their interiors are to the most discerning palate.
From the 14 we had the pleasure of ‘delicately sampling*’ (*devouring), standouts were the resoundingly-NOT-Biscoff Caramelised Shortbread, triple-layered Lemon Tart, and a Tropical Fruit ganache resembling a miniature mango.
A menu of 12 hot chocolates spans the spectrum from 40% right through to 100%, with single-origin chocolate sourced from the likes of the Solomon Islands, Nicaragua and the Philippines – an excellent way for the curious customer to discover the nuances not just of cocoa content, but also bean type and terroir: as with coffee, both integral to flavour profile.
Pair your chosen cup with a fresh-baked florentine and a spot of people-watching from one of the soon-to-launch pavement tables – which we’re willing to wager will become some of the area’s hottest.
The shop’s only just opened, but there’s no laurel-resting in sight: pipeline projects already include Indian bean-to-bar chocolate made right on the premises, and a range of filled bars which swap out exotic ingredients for often-foraged British counterparts; such as vanilla for woodruff. You heard it here first: watch this space.
You can nab a single-choc treat for just £3, but what we’re really holding out for is someone eager to express £495-worth of affection towards us in the form of this beautiful, covetable handmade wooden box showcasing the entire collection: the kind of Full House we can really get behind.

Unveiling this April, the exhibition will be on display until September 2025.
Hart is excited to be supporting another local artist this year, giving a platform for East London’s most innovative creators to present their work on a local and global stage.

This latest exhibition, which will be showcased in Hart’s light-dappled lobby, will caution onlookers to remember to pause and appreciate beautiful moments in between motion; something all too common with busy London lives. Opt for an extravagant sweet treat with Four Seasons Hotel London at Tower Bridge’s Aperi-tea

On 28th March 2025, renowned East End artisan baker, Lily Vanilli, will launch a new Aperi-tea concept at the Four Seasons Hotel London at Tower Bridge that takes the quintessentially English tradition of afternoon tea and reinvents it for modern Londoners.
London By Lily Vanilli will be served in the beautifully grand Rotunda Bar and Lounge, and as day turns to evening, the lights will dim, and the menu will shift to entice guests with an Aperitivo-style service and a distinctive night-time energy.
Described as a pioneer of the modern bakery revival, Lily is renowned for her spectacular cake designs and colourful creations. Lily has worked with the brand-new team at the Rotunda Bar and Lounge to create an afternoon tea that goes beyond just tea and scones and speaks to the discerning Londoner.
The result is an experience that promises divine cakes, decadent bakes and moreish savoury bites, all paired with mini cocktails. As the early evening draws in, the Afternoon Tea menu will evolve into an ‘Aperi-tea‘ offering – set to become London’s own version of Apertivo hour. ‘Aperi-tea’ is all about taking the best bits of the English afternoon tea, adding more cocktails and mirroring the shift in ambience as day turns to night.
A world away from tiny cakes and crustless sandwiches, The Rotunda Bar and Lounge’s new afternoon tea will feature some of London’s most on-trend dishes, reinvented in Lily’s unique style. The accompanying playful drinks menu will feature mini-cocktails, including the Lily Royale, a blend of Beluga Noble vodka, cacao blanc, raspberry cordial, and Champagne, garnished with a fresh raspberry dipped in white chocolate, and the Salted Espresso, a twist on the classic espresso martini with Patrón tequila, Los Siete Misterios mezcal, fresh espresso, Pedro Ximénez, and salted caramel syrup, finished with a crunchy sesame tuilé, as well as classic cocktails and mini martinis.
Changing seasonally, the opening menu will pay homage to the pastel colours and sense of renewal that Spring brings. It will include Lily Vanilli’s extravagant Celebration Cakes adorned with her renowned decadent icing, a deliciously creamy Creme Brulée Basque Cheesecake served with sour cherry compote and a Tiramisu Tart with coffee and brandy-soaked sponge, oozing custard mascarpone cream and coffee caramel in a crisp chocolate tart. Lily will also be serving up her infamous, delicate cake-like scones, with clotted cream and seasonal fruit compote.
Bite-sized savoury delicacies will perfect the Aperi-Tea hour moment. This includes Gilda, with anchovy, green olive and pickled chilli – the original bar snack hailing from the Basque region, light and airy Parmesan goujères, drowning in freshly grated parmesan (a nod to Samuel Pepys who once lived around the corner and buried his beloved wheel of parmesan under the building during the Great Fire of London), cheddar, feta and spinach savoury scones with pickled cucumber and dill, and crispy, crunchy and salty confit potatoes topped with smoked salmon, creme fraiche and lime.

Marking this milestone, Applebee’s next era will be defined through their brand new concept, menu and freshly designed space, as well as a continued determination to champion sustainably sourced British seafood.
Still fully independent and family-run, Applebee’s is one of the original Borough Market traders, having started as a fishmonger, Joy and Graham Applebee then moved into their first bricks-and-mortar seafood restaurant on Stoney Street.
