The Retreat at Blue Lagoon Welcomes Aggi Sverrisson For Two-Day Icelandic Feast

This May, its lavish fine dining restaurant will be welcoming chef Aggi Sverrisson for an inventive and seasonal feast – and you’re invited.

As stunning as it is sustainable, Moss, the hotel’s gourmet hotspot,“reimagines Iceland’s culinary traditions” through three different tasting menus (five- or seven-course, or vegan).

Led by executive chef Ingi Þórarinn Friðriksson, the team at Moss transport guests on a journey through Iceland’s vast terrain, sourcing ingredients from all corners of the country.

A menu centred around seasonal ingredients and sustainability, although some vegetables are imported, many served at the restaurant are sustainably cultivated on organic farms or in geothermal greenhouses.

The outside blends with the interiors, too – guests can dine at a chef’s table made of lava rock that was quarried on-site.

Prior to Moss’ opening, many of the chefs staged at one-Michelin-starred Texture in London, cooking alongside Aggi Sverisson for up to four months to hone their skills.

On 10 and 11 May, chef Aggi will return to his homeland to create an unforgettable gourmet journey at Moss, conjuring a multi-course experience curated from Iceland’s freshest, purest seasonal sources.

Available for two nights only, dishes will include icelanding langoustines with Oscietra caviar and lemon verbena broth and new season strawberries with broad beans, cardamom and skyr.

Master Sommelier Clément Robert, who has worked alongside Aggi at Texture, will also feature in this exclusive event, pairing Aggi’s culinary inventions with wines from the New and Old worlds.
