Smeg Is Letting The Nation Choose Its Next FAB Fridge Design

Whether you’re obsessed with creating your dream kitchen or just a fan of great design, Italian appliance brand, Smeg, has turned to the nation to help choose the latest addition to its iconic range of FAB fridges

Unveiled during London Design Festival, Smeg has revealed eight all-new matte shades – which can all be found on display at its flagship Regent Street store at 14 Regent Street, St James, London.

Visitors and passers-by will have the chance to choose which temporary colourway is put into production by scanning a QR code to vote in-person. For those unable to check it out in London itself, entrants can also place their vote by visiting smegitalia.typeform.com

Fridge fans will have until midnight on 8th November to cast their vote, before the winning model will be announced and sent into production. Design lovers will then have the opportunity to purchase the remaining models, having the chance to be the lucky owners of globally one-off models.

The new shade will join the existing range of 19 colourways and collaborations, allowing customers to create a kitchen aesthetic with the winning model that is truly curated.

Throwing Shade: About the Colourways

The eight new shades vary from bold shades to muted tones. For lovers of pops of colour in the kitchen, the new models feature a light Azure Blue or darker, vibrant Classic Blue. Rust offers a bold, deep orange while Very Peri celebrates the Pantone Colour of the Year in an eye-catching purple to make a statement.

For those who prefer a contemporary kitchen, Smeg fans can vote for a muted beige Perfectly Pale or a matte White, perfect to coordinate with Smeg’s matte white breakfast set. Coordinating with 2022’s most trending finish, Sage Green offers a calming tone for kitchens whilst Claret delivers a deep, seasonal shade.

With a reputation for a design and playful use of colour, Smeg’s latest bright-fuelled move highlights its long-standing passion for creating statement on trend appliances. The new shade will join an already vast range of 19 colourways and collaborations, allowing customers to create a kitchen aesthetic with the winning model that is truly unique.

Smeg’s FAB28 fridge benefits from adjustable glass shelves, internal LED strip lighting, shelving and chrome detailing and a Life Plus 0 degree compartment.

All eight of the new designs celebrate Smeg’s distinctive ‘Made In Italy’ design ethos, which is always playful, evocative and eclectic, a range which has been expanded and evolved since its conception in 1997.
