New Opening: Places Des Vosges Launches Chic Restaurant

Serving up chic fine dining, this new Parisian opening is set to delight tastebuds across Europe’s most stylish city this autumn


Pavillon de la Reine – the most intimate 5* boutique hotel in Paris, is revealing a brand-new and long-awaited restaurant this September.

« Anne », with Chef Mathieu Pacaud at its helm, is set to offer gourmands an exciting new dining destination. A new chapter in the hotel’s story, the venue will offer seasonal dishes with an authentic French take.

The address for those in search of discrete luxury, Pavillon de la Reine offers a private hideaway on Paris’ oldest and most beautiful square. Evoking 17th century Paris, with contemporary, chic interiors, all 56 rooms are individually designed and with a lush private garden courtyard.

Designed by the hands of architect Didier Benderli (Kérylos Agency) – whose work is seen throughout Pavillon de la Reine, expect comfortable seating in a mix of armchairs and banquettes, in keeping with the warm atmosphere of the hotel.

The restaurant is on the ground floor, nestled in the hotel’s private library salon, looking out onto the leafy courtyard. Interior treats include magazines, old novels and notably the works of Victor Hugo – who once lived a couple of doors down on Place des Vosges.

« Anne » will be no different to the rest of this chic hotel, with a name inspired by building’s history in honour of Queen Anne of Austria, after whom the hotel is named when she once graced one of its wings.

Dynamic chef Mathieu Pacaud is the man behind the menus, which will change with the seasons and vision of the chef. Feast upon a rich and authentic selection of classic French dishes, with a contemporary twist. Young head chef Edouard Chouteau will work under the expert counselling of Chef Mathieu.

Passionate about French cuisine, Edouard brings plenty of experience to Anne – having worked in the kitchens of Michelin-starred Le Bristol, Pierre Gagnaire and Arpège.

The restaurant will celebrate exceptional cuisine and champion seasonal ingredients: butter is sourced exclusively by the renowned Terroir d’Avenir; whilst fish, meat and vegetables are selected from producers recognised for their excellence.

Beautiful dishes offer a voyage from the land and sea: with langoustines, sole meunière, Béarn poultry and Lozère lamb for mains. Of course, dessert is essential – the chocolate soufflé is not to be missed.

Wine expert Gabrielle Vizzavona is responsible for the drinks list. Creative, passionate and unconventional, Gabrielle has immersed herself in the vineyards of more than 30 wine producing countries.

Tasting more than 5,000 wines a year, this globe-trotting oenologist is constantly on the lookout for winemakers whose interesting wines she can introduce to a discerning clientele.
