Michelin-starred mouthfuls, outstanding entertainment and historic palatial decor – enjoy a night of Italian splendour at the upcoming Ballo Tiepolo in Venice
An international social gathering of the suavest kind, the upcoming Ballo Tiepolo in February 2019 is a must-book for any fine dining lover or purveyor of excess.
Taking place annually since 1999, this year’s soiree will take place, as usual, at Palazzo Pisani Moretta – a beautiful palace overlooking the Grand Canal filled with frescos by great artists such as Tiepolo.
A truly magnificent example of late gothic architecture, Palazzo Pisani Moretta is undeniably one of the city’s most stunning buildings. To add to the atmosphere, during this special gala it will also be glowing with the light from hundreds of candles for extra enchantment.
The ideal place for a party, the palace originally belonged to the noble Venetian family of Bembo, built in the second half of the fifteenth century, which later became the property of the Pisans from which it takes its name.
The Main Hall will be transformed into a Venetian ballroom of the 18th century for the night of edible enchantment. Join dance masters (in mandatory period costume, of course) as they guide you through group dances, such as minuets, counter dances and waltz – accompanied by a live classical orchestra.
The entertainment doesn’t end there. Opera singers, acrobats, actors of the Comedy of Art and dancers will entertain guests until dinner, which will be equally superb.
Enjoy a four-course feast conjured by a secret Michelin star chef – think carefully constructed classic Italian delights. Post-midnight, the Grand Ball of Period Dances will continue on the ground floor with a second music ensemble.
Between the dances, party-goers will also enjoy coffee, hot chocolate, Venetian sweets and Prosecco wine.
