London’s ultimate alfresco restaurant returns this summer with not one, but three “Sky Tables” simultaneously serving diners 100ft in the sky
London in the Sky is returning to the capital and for the first time, three Sky Tables will simultaneously be suspended 100ft in the air above the South Bank.
Taking alfresco dining to a whole new level, the pop-up will run from 5th to 15th July based at Upper Ground Road, near the South Bank. Diners will enjoy backdrops of some of London’s most iconic buildings including St Paul’s Cathedral, OXO Tower, the Shard and the Millennium Bridge.
Exclusive menus have been created by leading chefs and will be available for lunch and dinner throughout the festival. Each of the three tables will serve a menu from either Pascal Aussignac of Michelin-starred Club Gascon; Robin Gill from critically acclaimed Sorello and The Dairy; or Lee Westcott from Bethnal Green Town Hall’s Typing Room.
Pascal’s menu will include a Gascony Pie: chicken ballotine and aromatic lobster served with a bisque sauce; Robin’s will showcase one-year lamb merguez presented with aubergine, miso and artichoke, and Lee’s will offer diners sea trout with heritage tomatoes, gooseberry and green almond.
In addition to their menus being served throughout the duration of the pop up, on 6th and 13th July, the chefs themselves will appear, cook and host their tables for dinner guests that evening.
Each table seats 22 guests with the culinary team cooking from the centre of the table. Diners are securely fastened in at ground level before their elevated gourmet experience begins and the Sky Tables are lifted 100ft into the air.
