Arty chic and comfortably cozy at the same time –  we enjoy a city break in suave surroundings during a stay at South Point Suites – London Bridge

With bakeries, bistros and cafes lining the street outside, the path to South Point Suites – London Bridge  is an artisanal food lover’s dream. I catch waft after waft of freshly baked goodies as I stroll along with mini suitcase in tow, gazing into the windows of busy coffee shops, trendy boutiques and galleries as I make my way across the cobbled pavement. There’s no doubt about it, this is an arty street. Even Picasso would probably make a pitstop.

I haven’t got long to walk – South Point Suite’s only a 10-minute walk from London Bridge station, with the Borough Tube another short distance away. There’s a handful of London’s main attractions on the hotel’s doorstop – the Shard, Borough Market and Southwark Cathedral to name a few. If you’re staying in the city to explore, it’s ideally located.

The venue

Fairly large and understated on the outside, South Point Suites is a modern, stylish space within. The new kid on the block, having only opened its doors a few months ago, expect urban chic interiors with industrial-inspired lights and large windows. The spacious living room area is especially gorgeous – complete with fireplace, stylish shelves and invitingly soft furnishings.

Staff are friendly and immediately welcoming – I’m greeted by three smiling people when waiting in the lobby alone. You’ll feel taken care of from check in to check out and with a 24hr front desk, there’s always someone on hand to help answer a query – be it big or small.

The room

If you’re looking to stay somewhere for an extended period of time, this hotel is a great choice. The studio rooms are styled like small apartments and come complete with stylish kitchens, power showers, little living rooms and even free patterned socks (the essential items to feeling at home). There’s everything but washing machines – which can be found downstairs in the basement to use on a complimentary basis.

Inside the suites, expect pops of bright colour, fun decor and cool artwork that compliments the cozy space. There’s geometric designs aplenty, along with plush sofas and big beds designed to sink yourself into. Little details count – and the 101 suites come complete with hairdryers, irons, Nespresso machines and Smart TVs.

Head to the 5th floor to marvel at the city skyline with a sweeping view of London’s buildings and sky-high bars or take a trip down to the basement for a state-of-the-art gym and locker room. Even better, the hotel’s entirely pooch-friendly too. Pack up your pup for an additional £30 a night, plus £150 deposit.

The food

There’s no restaurant at South Point Suites (yet) but peckish guests can make the most of a 24/7 pantry that comes stocked with everything from fresh juices and falafel salads to cold Hiver beers and more. With so many foodie finds on the hotel’s doorstep, there’s plenty nearby venues to choose from – explore local delis, restaurants and street food markets to your heart’s content.

The most important meal of the day, South Point Suites takes breakfast seriously – enjoy freshly brewed coffees and teas, along with cereals, pastries, fruits and even a Full English for as little as £10. If you’re in a rush, there’s an alternative speedy option too.
