Entries Now Open For Gleaneagles’ Great Adventure Race


Taking place in spring 2020, join the luxury Gleneagles resort for two days of adrenaline, adventure and edible heaven


Grab your best fitness gear, adventure is calling. Following the adrenaline-filled success of the inaugural Gleneagles’ Great Adventure Race in 2019, dates for the 2020 event have been announced for the 1st and 2nd May next year.

An outdoor challenge unlike no other, The Great Adventure Race at Gleneagles brings together grit, glory and glamour in equal measure. Attendees challenge themselves to a spectacular adventure across 55km of glorious Perthshire countryside as they battle the elements.

Participants are asked to test themselves with a 4km canoe trail, a 16km run over a Munro, and a 35km cycle through the local country roads – before they cross the finish line back at thee hotel and are met with the celebratory sound of bagpipes, magnums of Champagne, and sumptuous race recovery canapes’.

From there on out, it’s luxury onwards. Post-race, festivities continue long into the evening, with a Champagne reception and a glamorous dinner and prize giving, including a celebratory feast created by Executive Chef, Simon Attridge.

Kick it up a notch
Athletes who want to challenge themselves further can participate in an elite version of the race, involving a 7km canoe trail, a 25km run and 1800m ascent over two mountain peaks, and a 70km cycle route chosen by ultra-endurance cyclist Mark Beaumont.

For those who’d prefer to share the load, they can take part in a special relay event, where the individual legs of the competition are divided amongst members of a team of four.

Mark Beaumont is a record-breaking long-distance British cyclist, adventurer, broadcaster and author, holding the record for cycling round the world, completing his 18,000-mile route on 18 September 2017, having taken less than 79 days.

A unique event on the Scottish sporting calendar and one of the country’s most luxurious endurance competitions, the two-day Great Adventure Race experience begins the evening before the race with a specially-designed carb-loading banquet, during which During dinner, Mark Beaumont will give a spirited pep-talk to help inspire fellow race goers.
