From skiing on the slopes to sky-high sushi, this week has been a mad one…
Two big tick list accomplishments this week – ski a red slope (terrifying but so worth it) and dine at SUSHISAMBA. I’ve been hankering to visit the latter since I first heard of the sky-high sushi venue years ago, so getting the rare invitation to visit was amazing.
Tuna belly sashimi, amazing fusion food and even a decadent rain forest-inspired dessert – it was one of the best meals I’ve had in ages. I was only meant to be trying one dish – but I was lucky enough to be treated to an entire feast complete with Champagne, sake and wine. What a night!
Sitting in the sky with my friend, it felt strangely normal to be in such suave surroundings. I never take these amazing experiences for granted – but I’m learning to take them in my stride these days!
It was weird, really – I felt so different to my friend as we swapped stories about recent events. When normality feels foreign and a life of camel riding, plane flying and mountain climbing becomes the everyday – it makes you pinch yourself a little. Anything but ordinary, please!
My head needs a bit of clearing at the moment so I’m planning a spontaneous adventure for this weekend. Destination, unknown. I just know that I need to find a little bit of head space!
Hope you’ve had a nice week too.
