Chicama announces Chinese Laundry to headline upcoming Chefs Table #pop-up dinners
Chicama, the Peruvian-inspired restaurant in Chelsea and sister site to Pachamama in Marylebone, has announced that Chinese Laundry will headline its Chefs Table #pop-up series in April.
Leading on from an ongoing calendar of sell out pop-ups held at Chicama since 2017, these unique and interactive dining experiences welcome a host of pioneering chefs to cook a bespoke menu for guests within the restaurant’s intimate private dining room.
Seated at a single sharing table, guests are privy to watching the chefs hard at work, as the dining room boasts an adjoining open kitchen. Each headlining chef shares in its influences and techniques behind their individual cuisines, presenting their dishes to the table to create an informal and interactive experience with the diners.
On Tuesday, April 17th and Wednesday, April 18th chefs Peiran Gong and Tongtong Ren from Chinese Laundry, will showcase a selection of their best-loved dishes – influenced by the traditional Chinese cuisine of their childhoods – which has put the pair’s Islington restaurant firmly on the map.
Previous Chefs Table #popup guest chefs have included chef Jane Alty of the Begging Bowl in Peckham, chef John Chantarasak of Som Saa and Alexander Nietosvuori, previously of three Michelin starred restaurant Maaemo in Norway. The #pop-ups are set to continue throughout the year.
